One clip - titled “Corona whatttttt, please listen with volume" - shows Alli, 23, wearing a face mask as he films a man who appears to be Asian, the Daily Star reports.

The camera then pans to a bottle of antiseptic handwash, with another caption reading: "This virus gunna have to be quicker than that to catch me.”

Alli, who is currently on a winter break from Spurs, has now offered his "sincerest apologies" and insisted it was “never my intention” to offend anyone.

But the £100,000-a-week midfielder has been accused of racism and mocking the deadly bug, which has so far killed 805 people globally - making it more deadly than SARS.

'FANNING THE FLAMES'

One source told the newspaper: "It is wholly inappropriate to be filming this man and making jokes about the coronavirus.

"People are dying all over the world. Is this sort of racism just fanning the flames?”

Alli, who has been capped 37 times for England, said in a statement: "I regret posting the video on my Snapchat and I immediately removed it when I realised that it may cause offence.

"This was never my intention at all. For anyone that was offended, I’d like to offer my sincerest apologies.”

Some businesses are refusing to serve customers with Chinese heritage, while a rash of slurs on social media call for China to be "nuked".

And in Sheffield, a Chinese student was reportedly pushed and abused for wearing a face mask.

It comes after five Brits - including a nine-year-old boy - contracted the bug after it was passed to them by the third UK citizen to catch the disease.

The man picked up the virus at a business conference in Singapore and then travelled to ski chalet in France where 11 people he came into contact with are now in hospital.
