The full-back would cost the Hoops upwards of £4million with Ange Postecoglou set for a major Parkhead rebuild this summer.
Hickey was a special guest on Scotland HQ in the build-up to tomorrow’s big clash with Croatia.
Host Gordon Smart asked the youngster about the links with a return to Scotland from Italy.
And while he admits he can see all of the chat – he says he just has to keep his head down and keep working hard.
He said: “Well I am fully aware that there has been interest.
“I can see it all – but I have just got to keep my head down and keep my full focus on Bologna just now.”
Hickey was named on the 2021 Golden Boy award list alongside Billy Gilmour.
The Scots duo have been shortlisted for the prestigious accolade which has previously been scooped by the likes of Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe and Raheem Sterling.
Gilmour continues to impress with his England performance on his first international start earning him rave reviews.
Hickey has enjoyed an impressive first season in Serie A with Bologna and he admits it was a proud moment to be named alongside the best Under-21 players.
He said: “I am proud. It is really nice but I just need to keep my head down and keep doing my best.”

He added: “To be in a Scotland squad would be a dream for me.
“We will just see how the next season goes and hopefully the dream can come true.
