It’s thought the Tykes will receive a minimum fee of around £2 million up front before the agreed add-ons.

SunSport understands the Jags hammered out a 20 percent sell-on clause when Lindsay moved to Oakwell two years ago.

Now they will rake it in after Nathan Jones’ side beat off interest from at least five other Championships rivals to secure the 23-year-old.

Firhill boss Gary Caldwell will hope he has some of the cash added to his transfer budget as he continues to reshape his squad after the club avoided relegation from the Championship.

We told last week how Italian side Brescia had a bid of just over £1 million thrown after Lindsay played a key role in Barnsley’s promotion from League One.

But that opened the door to a fight between clubs down south to land Lindsay’s signature.

Jones pushed the boat out after seeing Lindsay’s displays first-hand while bossing previous club Luton.

Lindsay will undergo a medical in the next few days before completing the switch.

He was an ever-present under Daniel Stendel and netted the goal that sealed their promotion back to England’s second tier.
