SPFL panel will be instructed to IGNORE everything Lewis Ferguson has done at Aberdeen when considering case over ex-Hamilton man
Hamilton chief Ronnie MacDonald is looking for £1.25million for the midfielder after his summer switch to Pittodrie
LEWIS FERGUSON’S Europa League strike against Burnley WON’T be considered by a transfer tribunal next week.
Aberdeen and Fergie’s old club Hamilton are locked in a wrangle over the fee for the 18-year-old midfielder.
As SunSport reported this week, Accies chief Ronnie MacDonald wants £1.25million after his summer switch to Pittodrie.
The Dons had an offer of £100,000 KO’d in the close-season after Ferguson’s contract expired.
Both registered their case with the tribunal — but SunSport understands the SPFL panel will be instructed to IGNORE everything he’s done since pitching up at Pittodrie.
And that includes his acrobatic goal in the defeat against the Clarets at Turf Moor.
Dons manager Derek McInnes yesterday refused to respond to MacDonald.
He said: “We’ve nothing to add. We will speak at the right and proper time.
“We will have a chance on Monday to put our case across. Will it be closer to our valuation? It will be, I’m pretty sure.”
McInnes has also opened talks with skipper Graeme Shinnie about extending his deal.
The 27-year-old Scotland international’s contract ends next summer and he’s on the radar of Bristol City.
But Del believes Shinnie wants to stay at Pittodrie.
TRUE TALENT Andy Considine says Scott McKenna is slowly becoming his No1 partner over Russell Anderson
He said: “I’m relaxed about it as Graeme is saying all the right things and seems keen to stay.
“It is very important to me he stays longer and the offer is in keeping with his status at the club.
“It’s a strong offer. His agent can’t come up for a couple of weeks but when he can we will all get together and try to thrash out a deal.”
Aberdeen face St Mirren in the Betfred Cup on Saturday and McInnes hopes to have new signing James Wilson involved.
He said: “The plan is for him to join in on Friday and go straight into the squad.”
