ARMED cops swooped on a flat in Edinburgh last night.
More than half a dozen officers – who just hours ago gathered outside Tynecastle High School with other emergency services – went into the property in Gorgie’s Harrison Road around 10.45pm.
They arrived in unmarked Mitsubishi jeeps before entering.
A source said: “Police with guns and shields, wearing grey suits, spent about ten minutes inside before returning to their vehicles. Marked cars are still in the area.”
Earlier officers swarmed near Tynecastle High where several ambulance vehicles were also in attendance as part of the service’s Special Operations Response Team.
An onlooker said: “There are two cop cars at the school entrance along with three police jeeps and four ambulances.
“Around six of the police officers are armed.”
The exact nature of the operation remains unclear.
Cops confirmed the police presence when contacted by The Scottish Sun.
A police spokesman said today the incident was now closed.
