Justin Bieber scored a number one with his latest hit Despacito – but he clearly never learned the lyrics.

The 23-year-old singer teamed up with Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee for the Spanish track but struggled to remember the words, or how to pronounce them, during a live show at 1Oak nightclub in New York City.

Bieber replaced “Despacito” with “Dorito”, and any other word he could find to rhyme, before he gave up altogether on trying to remember the lyrics and instead improvised with “jabba jabba jabba”.

The chorus on the single reads: “Despacito / Quiero respirar tu cuello despacito / Deja que te diga costs al oído.”

But Bieber sang: “Despacito / I don’t know the words so I say Poquito, I don’t know the words so I say Dorito.”

He then asked fans to sing for him, but they were equally as clueless about the lyrics.

At one point he joked about wanting to eat a burrito, singing: “Come on! You know the words! Jabba jabba jabba jabba jabba buritto! I ate a burrito! I just want a burrito!”

Bieber may want to learn the lyrics before he plays in front of thousands of fans at London's Hyde Park.
