Police arrest man in his 30's in Wells on suspicion of grooming offences

Police arrested a man in his 30's in Wells on Friday morning on suspicion of grooming offences.

Avon and Somerset police were called to Wells bus station in Princes Road at 9am today (December 21).

A man in his 30's was then taken into police custody.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a disturbance at Wells bus station in Princes Road at about 9am today.

"Shortly afterwards a man in his 30's was arrested on suspicion of grooming offences.

"He remains in police custody.

"Our priority is to ensure that we identify and safeguard any children who may be at potential risk.

"We are committed to the safeguarding of young people and will act on various information and intelligence, which is provided to us."
