Blackburn are interested in signing Middlesbrough striker Britt Assombalonga, according to Sky sources.
Tony Mowbray is looking to strengthen his attacking options at Blackburn, but it is believed any possible deal may be too difficult to get over the line before Thursday's deadline.
Assombalonga has fallen out of favour at Boro in recent months, starting just three of their last 13 Sky Bet Championship games, while he has found the net seven times in 24 league games this season.
It is believed Boro would be open to a deal, but the club would be looking to recoup most of the £15m fee they paid Nottingham Forest for the player back in July 2017.
A more likely proposition for Blackburn, however, is a bid for Southampton striker Sam Gallagher.
The 23-year-old enjoyed a successful loan period two seasons ago and is admired by Rovers boss Mowbray.
