Cameroonian soccer legend Samuel Eto'ois off to study business management at the prestigious Harvard Business School at the beginning of next year.

After announcing his retirement in September of this year, the 38-year-old four-time African Player of the Year has set his sights on giving back to the African continent and contributing to its transformation through studying. According to BBC Sport, Eto'o will take up residence in Boston for a year and is looking forward to the new challenge.

Speaking about his decision to study, Eto'o says, "I want to help and to make my positive contribution to the transformation of our continent. When you're a footballer, you pay people to take care of your career and things generally." He adds that, "But when it's up to you to manage people, and you want to develop them, you practically need to learn new skills."

Eto'o's illustrious professional soccer career, which spanned over two decades, began with Real Madrid back in 1996 when he was just 16. In 2000, the young player picked up an Olympic gold medal while four years later, he went on to play for Barcelona, a move that saw him becoming the first African player to be awarded the La Liga Golden Boot in 2006 after when he netted a whopping 26 times in 34 matches. Following his move to Inter Milan in 2009, Eto'o's success continued as he picked up numerous awards including two successive Africa Cup of Nations victories.
