The truth about Manchester United's 'transfer offer' for Liverpool target Nabil Fekir

The France and Lyon playmaker saw a move to Anfield fall through earlier this month

Nabil Fekir has received a contract offer from Manchester United, according to reports in France.

The France international saw a move to Liverpool fall through last month. But now Le Progres claims 'For Nabil, offers are not lacking. The latest comes from Manchester United.'

However, the Red Devils have little interest in a move for the OL skipper, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Liverpool 'missed out' on Fekir by €5million by reportedly citing the player's apparent knee cartilage problem to bring the price down, so now United have supposedly shown interest.

Or have they? Fekir plays as a second striker or an attacking midfielder, areas United are well stocked in following the addition of Fred and Fellaini extension. Jesse Lingard flourishes in an advanced midfield role, Juan Mata can play there and Paul Pogba has potential to step up in that area.

The Fekir tales are probably just that and there is no concrete evidence United want him. He only has two years left on his contract, so Lyon would prefer to sell him the 24-year-old this summer while he is coveted by a big Premier League club, rather than in a year’s time when his value will have dwindled.
