Wolves youngster Ruben Vinagre is being watched by Barcelona as they continue to survey left-back options.

The Portuguese whizkid joined Wolves from Monaco on a permanent £10million deal last summer having impressed on loan in the Championship last season.

And the 19-year-old, who inked a five-year deal when completing his switch to Molineux, has made 19 appearances for the club this term.

Often that has been as a substitute, with Vinagre playing backup to Matt Doherty and Jonny Otto, Wolves’ first-choice wing-back duo.

But according to O Jogo, Barca are continuing to keep tabs on his progress, having first become aware of Vinagre as a 16-year-old, when he was still a part of the Sporting Lisbon academy.

Barca have sent scouts to watch the Portugal Under-19 international on a number of occasions this term - notably the 2-1 win over Manchester United last week.

Barcelona recently handed first-choice left-back Jordi Alba a new contract at Camp Nou, but have been looking for a back-up to the Spain international ever since Lucas Digne's exit to Everton last summer.

Alberto Moreno, the Liverpool outcast, has been mooted as a free transfer option this summer, while Wolves have little desire to sell Vinagre. - who has also been mentioned in his homeland as a potential Liverpool target.
