Manchester United might have undergone a mini-resurgence in recent months, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are still near the bottom of the Premier League table in terms of distance covered.
Solskjaer’s squad, who were managed by Jose Mourinho until he was sacked in December, have only covered 3,240 kilometres since the start of the Premier League campaign in August - only Brighton and Cardiff have run less.
Bournemouth are the league’s top runners this season, covering nearly 3,540km over the course of the campaign, with Newcastle and Burnley just behind in second and third place respectively.
And Burnley’s total is boosted by the fact that they have the Premier League’s number one running man in Jack Cork.
The 29-year-old has ran more than any other player this season, covering a grand total of 360.74km since August.
Premier League leaders Liverpool might be in fifth position (3,491km) with regards to most distance covered as a team, but the Reds have made more sprints than any other top-flight team this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s players have hit top speed 3,794 times over the course of the campaign, 45 more than second-placed Bournemouth, while Burnley have made the fewest sprints this season with 2,722.
Once again, Manchester United are near the bottom of the sprints table, having only made 3,096 dashes since August.
Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell has the most individual sprints (609) this season while Liverpool duo Mohammed Salah (547) and Andy Robertson (531) are in second and third place.
