Liverpool’s highly-rated striker Rhian Brewster is set to make a huge step in his road to recovery by taking part in full training next week.

The talented 18-year-old has been sidelined by an ankle injury for 13 months - with his last appearance coming in the Reds’ U23s defeat by Manchester City last January.

Brewster made his return to the first-team squad by travelling out to Marbella for Jurgen Klopp's warm-weather training last month.

Klopp had earmarked Brewster to make his Reds bow at some point in the season run-in, and he’ll be given a chance to shine next week.

According to the Liverpool Echo , the Reds have no intention of rushing his recovery but are keen to get him involved again with Klopp’s squad.

Klopp previously suggested the teenager had an outside chance of making his senior bow before the end of this season.

His only previous matchday involvement was as an unused substitute in the 2-1 home defeat against Crystal Palace back in April 2017.

Klopp said: "I hope Rhian is 100% and completely fine, top shape for the pre-season - that would be my target for him.
