Manchester City will face competition from Juventus for talented Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, according to reports.

While City are still going strong in the Champions League, they have seen their grip on the Premier League title slip this season and Pep Guardiola may look to refresh his squad in the summer as a result.

Captain David Silva will depart the club upon the conclusion of the season and, while Phil Foden is heralded to take his place, a new midfielder may be considered once the transfer window reopens again.

The Blues have experienced first hand just how good Aouar is, as he played brilliantly against them n the Champions League group stages in the 2018/19 season as they twice failed to defeat the French side.

Ligue 1 has been canceled prematurely due to the coronavirus pandemic and as a result Lyon have failed to qualify for Europe for the first time since 1997, which could spark an exodus of their star players.

While the versatile 21-year-old stayed at Lyon last season despite heavy speculation of a move L'Equipe, via SportWitness, claim that the club have resigned themselves to losing him this summer and the door is open for his departure.
