With the £300m takeover of Newcastle United by a Saudi-backed consortium having now been approved by the Premier League, the deal makes the club the richest in English football.

Amanda Staveley, who helped broker the deal, outlined the club’s ambitions, calling Newcastle “the best team in the world”:
“Newcastle United deserves to be top of the Premier League. We want to get there. It will take time, but we will get there,” Staveley told Sky Sports .
“We want to see it get those trophies, obviously. At the top of the Premier League, in Europe, but to get trophies means patience, investment, time. We want everybody to work with us to build the club towards what it needs to be.”

However, the club currently sit in the relegation zone and due to the same Financial Fair Play restrictions that Everton faced , the Magpies’ squad overhaul will have to be a gradual one.
Given the long-term nature of the project laid out by Newcastle’s owners, the Liverpool ECHO has taken a look at several Everton players that the club could target over the next few transfer windows, whose value total £75.15m according to Transfermarkt.
Yerry Mina
The Colombian centre-half has enjoyed an impressive start to life under Everton boss Rafa Benitez, featuring in six of the Toffees’ seven league games.
Mina hasn't always represented value for money following his big-money move from Barcelona in 2018 but has been an integral part of the Blues side that currently sits 5th in the table, two points off top spot.
Valued at £18m by Transfermarkt, it would take an excessive fee for Everton to part with the defender but he could be viewed as an opportunistic signing by Newcastle, given the club’s current financial constraints.
Andre Gomes

Signed in the same summer as Mina in a triple swoop from the Catalan side, Gomes is yet to have the same impact under Benitez.
The Portugal international, also valued at £18m according to Transfermarkt, made 28 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti last season.
However, he is still waiting for his first league start this term and could be a name on Newcastle’s radar, given his experience.
Fabian Delph
Another that falls into the experienced camp within Everton’s squad is Fabian Delph .
The England international won two Premier league titles while at Manchester City but his time at Goodison Park has not been a success. Consistent injuries have meant the 31-year-old has only played 31 games since arriving at the Blues in 2019.
Valued at just £3.15m, though, he does have the winners' medals that the Newcastle owners covet.
Tom Davies
The 23-year-old is one of several midfielders that could look to leave Everton, in search of consistent game time.
Davies has been a first team regular under most of his previous managers, but his only starts so far this season have come in the Carabao Cup.
Having previously been linked with a move to Newcastle, the former England U21 international is worth £16.2m according to Transfermarkt.

Alex Iwobi
Rated at the highest value on this list, £19.8m, Iwobi has the potential to be the type of signing that Newcastle pursue to alter the outlook of their team.
Everton paid Arsenal £34m for the Nigeria international in 2019, who is currently battling with Andros Townsend and Demarai for a starting berth.
Given his lack of guaranteed game time, Newcastle may look to the 25-year-old, in order to bring in more attacking players to change their defence-minded squad.
