Police hunt thug who attacked and robbed man in New Walk, Leicester

Robber forced victim to the ground and snatched his phone

Police are searching for a thug who attacked a 20-year-old man and snatched his phone.

The victim was targeted as he walked along New Walk, near Leicester city centre earlier this month.

Leicestershire Police officers have worked with the victim, who suffered ‘minor’ injuries, to draw up a description of the attacker.

In a statement today, the force said: “As he passed the museum he was approached by a man who punched him to the ground and then stole his mobile telephone.

“A member of the public came across the incident and intervened while the victim was on the floor.
