Search for missing woman stood down following discovery of body

The search for Manuela Afrasinei has been stood down following the discovery of a woman's body in Tallaght on Tuesday evening.

Update, May 1, 2024: The search for Manuela Afrasinei has been stood down following the discovery of a woman's body in Tallaght on Tuesday evening.

The 39-year-old was missing from Portarlington in Co Laois since Friday, April 26.

Gardaí have thanked the public for their assistance with the matter.

April 27, 2024: The family of a woman last seen in Co Laois are "deeply concerned for her safety" as gardaí appealed for information on her whereabouts.

Manuela Afrasinei, 39, was reported missing to gardaí in Tallaght on Friday.

She was last seen leaving her home in Portarlington, Co Laois, shortly after 6am. She was driving a white Ford Kuga with registration 171 KE.

Manuela is described as being 5'6" tall, with long blonde hair and green eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing dark red pants, a black and white top, and a long chequered black and white coat.

Gardaí said her family are deeply concerned for her safety and well-being and are anxious to establish contact with her.
