In what can be called a "rare sighting indeed", a majestic snow leopard was spotted in Himachal Pradesh's Spiti district. Susanta Nanda of the Indian Forest Service shared a video on Twitter that showed the big cat strolling down the snow-covered valley.

In his caption for the post, Susanta Nanda shared distinct characteristics of snow leopards. With tails as big as their bodies, snow leopards also possess grey or green eyes unlike other big cats.

"Majestic grandeur in the tranquillity of Spiti District. Snow leopard is the most beautiful and mystical big cat with grey/green eyes, unlike the yellow eyes of other big cats. Tail as long as the body and 5 inch fur at bottom to survive cold weather, rare to see these ghost of the mountain," Susanta Nanda said in his post.

The internet is impressed with the video that has already been viewed over 7,000 times and garnered almost 900 likes. In the comments section, netizens thanked Susanta Nanda for sharing the video.

"Majestic, indeed! Thanks for sharing," a user said while another added, "First time, watching a snow leopard so near to humans, that too walking down the road!! Majestic".
