A great flying catch by Fabian Allen ends the AFG innings off the last ball as AFG are all-out for 288. An entertaining cameo from Shirzad in the end as he cleared the boundary a few times with ease but the amount of runs required proved too many for the tailenders. WI sign off with a victory but sadly for AFG they bow out of the WC without a single victory in their bag.

An enterprising innings from Rashid Khan comes to an end as he falls trying to hit a six and Jason Holder again takes a similar catch to his previous one. AFG are now nine-down and West Indies are now all set for a revenge victory over an opponent who has had the wood on them in recent times

And Afghanistan have now lost their ex-captain and possibly their last hope. Asghar goes for a big shot over bowler Brathwaite's head but Jason Holder at the boundary takes a very well judged catch to mark the end of a little gem from Asghar. Could this signal the end of AFG resistance? No, not until Rashid is there

What is happening here! Mohammad Nabi who had only played 5 deliveries goes for a big shot over cover but only ends up slicing the ball high in the auir and towards the point fielder where Fabian Allen takes a good catch gifting Roach his 2nd wicket of the day

Another one bites the dust and this time via a run-out. Najibullah Zadran, who went for a second run after seeing that the 39-year old Gayle was after the ball, is run-out at the non-striker's end as Gayle pulls out of the chase at the last minute and Hetmyer fires a bullet throw towards Brathwaite who is waiting at the bowling end. OUT! Huge moment in the game as Chris Gayle takes the big wicket of Ikram Ali for 86. Ali goes for a sweep of a full ball but fails to make any contact with the bat. After becoming the 3rd youngest half-centurion in World Cup history, Ikram Ali has now zoomed past the legendary Sachin Tendulkar as he now is the youngest to score 80+ in the tournament's history.

You'd have to say that it's a tame end to an enterprising innings as an incoming delivery hits Rahmat's bat high and an easy cath is lobbed towards Chris Gayle stationed at short cover. Oh dear! Sheldon Cottrell drops a sitter at long-on. Slater in commentary says: I'm afraid we can't salute that!. Rahmat went for a heave over the mid-wicket boundary but only managed to hit it straight as Cottrell settled nicely under it but the ball popped out of his hands and onto the ground. Cottrell picks and throws the ball in disgust as the bowler Brathwaite is left disappointed.

While Rahmat has been seeing the ball really well and timing his shots to perfection, Ikram is also showing signs of his batting talent as he steps out to Fabian Allen and launches him over the mid-off reagion as the ball rushes to the boundary.

Embarassing run out for West Indies in the first ball of the final over. However, Holder didn't even move while Pooran ran to the striker's end. Good effort from the Afghanistan keeper as he got the throw to the right end and dismissed Pooran.

Shai Hope has been anchoring West Indies' innings ever since he walked out to bat after Chris Gayle's departure. The young right-hander, batting on 68, survived an LBW appeal against Dawlat Zadran, who has been extremely impressive for Afghanistan so far. It looked like the ball had trapped him in front but the umpire was unmoved. Replays show the ball would have missed the leg-stump.

Nicholas Pooran is the new man in. The left-hander, another natural strokemaker, has headed into the match on the back of a valiant hundred against Sri Lanka in their previous match. He joins Hope with only 14 overs to go.

Rashid Khan to Hetmyer, 2 runs. Hetmyer looked to hit that towards but skied it after getting a top-edge. It went too high, making it tough to catch for the two fielders running for it. In the ends, both of them miss it.

Rashid Khan to Shai Hope, LBW Appeal, but not a passionate one. Rashid Khan appealed for it and Ikram Ali joined it but Gulbadin Naib did not look pleased to take a DRS has he singalled that the ball going high.

Shai Hope gets to his 5th ODI fifty. He was dropped by Rashid Khan early in his innings but the talented right-handed batsman has recovered well from it. He now has the support of Shimron Hetymer who is taking on the spinners.

Shimron Hetmyer, it seems, has come out looking to attack everything that comes his way. The left-handed batsman is taking the attack to off-spinner Mohammad Nabi. West Indies looked to target Rashid Khan who has had an ordinary World Cup 2019 so far. After a series of tidy overs, Shai Hope hit Rashid for a couple of boundaries to begin the 25th over. However, Rashid got the big wicket of Evin Lewis for 58 when the left-handed opener tried to clear the mid-wicket boundary. The leg-spinner snaps an 88-run stand. He is delighted and relieved as well.

West Indies bring up their 100 in the 24th over. Evin Lewis and Shai Hope have added a fine 2nd wicket stand but the Afghanistan spinners have been able to pull things back. Nabi, who had bowled an economical first over, comes on to bowl his second and is instantly greeted by Shai Hope who charges down the ground and deposits a loopy delivery for a straight six over the bowler's head.

After receiving a lot of flak for bowling the final over of their last match against Pakistan resulting in a defeat, Gulbadin is back to what he does best and has managed to keep the WI duo quiet by bowling in a tight channel just outside of off-stump

After the dismissal of Gayle, Lewis has been joined by Shai Hope in the middle. But his senior partner's departure doesn't seem to have affected Lewis as he keeps chancing his arms against the AFG bowlers. Syed Shirzad becomes one of his victims as he bowls a ball which is just a touch short and Lewis swivels and pulls the ball high and over the fine leg boundary for a maximum

When Gayle appears in his 35th and last World Cup match on Thursday in Leeds, for West Indies against Afghanistan, cricket followers won't be watching to see him nudge the ball around to keep the fielders busy. They want to see the self-proclaimed great live up to his self-styled hype and hit sixes. Smear the bowlers to every boundary, and soaring over those, too. They want to see balls rainbowing into stands of dancing and singing fans.

West Indies and Sri Lanka have been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate in their last World Cup match in Durham which Sri Lanka won by 23 runs.

Match referee David Boon imposed the fines after Jason Holder's West Indies and Dimuth Karunaratne's Sri Lanka were both ruled to be two overs short of their target after time allowances were taken into consideration during Monday's game. Read More

Afghanistan came close to defeat India and Pakistan in their last two matches. However, their inability to cash-in on the crucial junctures of the game denied them with the opportunity of causing what would have been the biggest upsets in this edition of the World Cup.

While the spinners -- Mujeeb ur Rahman, Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi -- have lived up to their reputation with consistent performances throughout the tournament, the fast bowlers and the batting unit have failed to contribute significantly to the team's cause, a main reason for their dismal performance so far.

However, against West Indies, they will feel confident as they have beaten them thrice in four completed matches.

West Indies, on the other hand, have failed to produce an all-round performance, barring their opening match victory against Pakistan where they bundled out the Green Brigade for mere 105.

The batsmen have failed to contribute consistently and the bowlers too have been guilty of coming out with only one plan against their opponents, making them almost ineffective on England pitches.

Despite some good individual performances, Windies have failed to put up a significant total due to the lack of partnerships. That's why, skipper Jason Holder will look to inspire his team to play with full intensity in their final game and end what has been a disappointing tournament on a high.
