Hull KR have the option to turn Muizz Mustapha’s loan from Leeds Rhinos into a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old prop has joined Rovers for the 2021 campaign after signing a new two-year contract with the Rhinos.

But Hull Live understands the arrangement is slightly more complicated than that.

Should Mustapha impress during his time at Craven Park, there is a clause in the contract with Leeds that would allow KR to take the young forward on a two-year deal.

It represents something of a coup by the Robins, with Mustapha highly regarded in the academy game before making the step up to Super League level this year.

The youngster was a standout performer for England Academy in their series victory over the Australian Schoolboys at the end of 2018 and has got a bright future in the game.

After making his first-team debut against Workington Town in last year’s Challenge Cup, Mustapha got a taste of Super League in the second part of this season.
