Everyone thinks new Coca-Cola advert is voiced by woman from Hull

The new Diet Coke advert was released on December 31

Does Coca Cola's new advert star a Hull woman?

Coca-Cola's new TV advert has some convinced that the narrator is from Hull.

The commercial, advertising Diet Coke, was released on December 31 with a distinctly northern accent speaking about their new year vows.

The script reads: “This new year I vow there will be no new me for I am just as super cute as last year.

“I will continue to love what I love and to those who are super judgy I’ll be like, ‘are you okay hun?’

“Next level basic baby and proud. And if you say I can’t I say literally can’t even. You do you, Diet coke.”

With elongated vowel sounds especially apparent in the reader's pronunciation of “no” and “coke” it is easy to see why people believe the voice hails from Hull.

There has been speculation that Hull comedian Lucy Beaumont is the ad’s narrator.

And one person tweeted: “Only people from Hull say coke like that”
