Report: Liverpool strike deal to sign Marcelo Pitaluga, he’s already spoken to Alisson

According to UOL Esporte in Brazil, Liverpool are set to sign Fluminense goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga having agreed a fee.

It’s claimed that Liverpool will be paying €2million (£1.8million) for Pitaluga having reached a breakthrough in talks with the Brazilian side.

Fluminense will though have a 25% sell-on clause in the deal, meaning they could earn more in the future.

Pitaluga is only 17, but can immediately make the move because he has a German passport, meaning he can head over to England now.

His family are heading to Merseyside with him, and it’s understood that Pitaluga has spoken to Alisson about the move to Anfield.

Alisson’s brother Muriel – who plays for Fluminense – has also offered advice to Pitaluga and put him in contact with the Liverpool stopper.

Pitaluga is a Brazilian Under-17 international, and looks to have a bright future – but he will face competition at Liverpool.

The Reds already have a number of young goalkeepers in Vitezslav Varos, Ben Winterbottom, Jakub Ojkrzynski and new signing Fabian Mrozek, so Pitaluga will have to work hard to break through with the Reds.
