It is a big game for Portsmouth as the League One season draws to a close.

Pompey are at home against Accrington Stanley at Fratton Park as they try to secure a play-off spot in the third tier, but the hosts found themselves behind in the first half as Adam Phillips fired the visitors in front.

It was a goal that dealt a significant blow to Portsmouth's play-off hopes, with Danny Cowley's side needing to match or better the results of Oxford United and Charlton Athletic to secure sixth spot.

But while Southampton fans will have relished seeing their south coast rivals fall behind in the game, Saints fans were delighted to see how Phillips celebrated the goal at Fratton Park.

Wheeling away to celebrate, he marked his goal with a golf swing, which Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse has made his regular celebration this season in the Premier League.

And that did not go unnoticed by Saints fans on social media.

It was a deserved lead for Accrington, who have been purposeful and have impressed on the south coast, with the visitors ahead at the break.

As things stand, Portsmouth would miss out on the play-offs, with Oxford United 2-0 ahead against Burton Albion.
