A devastated Gloucester woman has spoken of her anguish after she said her beloved pet was stolen from outside of her home.

CCTV footage shows a Ford Mondeo Estate drive up to Kerry Rudge's home on Grove Crescent, Barnwood, at 2pm on September 16.

In the video, two men aged in their late teens to early 20s can be seen reaching through a locked gate, picking Tilly up and then driving away.

Owner Kerry Rudge says she's desperate to find her five-year-old Bichon Frise.

"She is like one of the children - she's part of the family," Mrs Rudge said. "If it was a child who had been snatched everyone would be searching straight away.

"I had to tell the kids when I picked them up from school she was gone, they were all besides themselves."

During the last month, there have been four reported dog thefts and one attempt.

A Collie and six puppies were stolen in one incident on August 18.

And in another heartbreaking theft, a Labrador cross was taken from a house in Brookthorpe at around 4pm on Thursday (August 13).

"I had no idea all of this was going on," said Mrs Rudge. "I just hope we can get her picture out enough that someone will recognise her."

A spokeswoman for Gloucestershire Constabulary said: "Police have received a report of a stolen dog from an address in Barnwood, Gloucester.

"The dog is believed to have been taken between 1.50 and 2pm yesterday (Wednesday, September 16).

"Police enquiries are on-going.

"If you have any information and have not yet spoken to police please call 101 and quote incident 344 of September 16."
