Celtic star Leigh Griffiths admits he was a 'disgrace' when he returned to pre-season training overweight.

And the Scotland frontman confessed he let everybody down and has been trying his hardest to get back into everyone's good books.

Griffiths returned to pre-season training after the Covid-19 lockdown heavier than he should and was left behind when Celtic went to France for pre-season.

And now he says he'll 'repay' Neil Lennon for letting him down but insists he's been working hard since day one and would be in a better shape if it wasn't for injuries.

When asked about how his fitness was, he said: “Night and day. I think the manager would say that too.

“It was just about getting a consistent run of games.

“I let myself down. I let everybody down. But I’m trying to repay them bit by bit by helping the team, scoring goals and getting the team points.
