How To Get Your Free Twitch Prime Loot In 'Fortnite: Battle Royale'

This article is more than 6 years old.

If you've been spending your time grinding through the Battle Pass in an attempt to get some more skins in Fortnite: Battle Royale, you should know that you might already have some free ones waiting to be redeemed. Epic and Twitch recently made some free loot available for Twitch Prime members, and there's some nice-looking stuff in a mix that includes a sort of tactical, arctic camo piece with matching glider, a black tank-top with purple earmuffs and some emoticons for good measure.

Take note: you might be a Twitch Prime member, and not even know it. That's because Twitch is an Amazon property, and Amazon Prime memberships are reciprocal here. So come for two day shipping and the charming if under-appreciated Mozart in the Jungle, stay for the sweet loot.

You start by going here and then by clicking whether or not you have Twitch Prime. If you have Twitch Prime you'll need to link your PSN, Xbox Live or Epic account, after which Twitch will deliver the goods to your account to be made available the next time you sign into the game. If you don't have Twitch Prime, you can either sign up for a 30-day trial or create a new account by linking your Amazon Prime account.

Keep in mind that there are four, and potentially five, accounts to be managed here, so things do get complicated. We have Twitch accounts, PSN accounts, Xbox Live accounts, Epic accounts and Amazon Prime accounts. You'll want to make sure you're keeping them straight to get your rewards, so read Epic's FAQ here.

Twitch Prime has given away free loot before as part of various game partnerships. Previous drops have included Overwatch, Call of Duty: WW2 and Paladins. Twitch is also currently pushing Overwatch League by rewarding people with redeemable tokens just for watching. That's the strangeness and beauty of a virtual goods economy: all this stuff is free unless it's not.

Epic also has some free loot for you if you're a PlayStation Plus member, so PS4 players who spend a lot of time ordering stuff on Amazon can quickly load up on a nice little locker even if they've just recently started playing the game.
