The Dens Park players aren't happy with the financial incentives in place as they look to thrash out new agreements

Dundee players are at loggerheads with Dens Park chiefs over bonus payments.

Football Scotland understands the Dark Blues' stars, spearheaded by senior players, are locked in a feud with the Dee high heidyins about win bonuses for league and cup competitions.

Captain Charlie Adam is, reportedly, leading the charge for the players as he holds discussions with Dens managing director John Nelms - the man in control of the coffers.

It's been a tough start to life in the Premiership for James McPake's men after last term's play-off promotion as they sit bottom of the table, still without a win through eight games.

Regardless, the Dee stars aren't happy with the financial packages in place with talks stalling since pre-season.

It's been a frustrating impasse not helped by Dundee's stuttering start to the season, an injury to Adam and Nelms' return to America for the international break.

They'll hope to solve the dispute sooner rather than later as Dundee prepare for a bottom-six battle with Aberdeen a week on Saturday.

Football Scotland approached Dundee FC for a response but the Dens Park club say they will not be making any comment on the situation at this time.
