Sadio Mane not feeling pressure from hefty price tag

SADIO MANE insists he will not allow his £30million price tag affect his time at Liverpool.

5 facts about Senegalese footballer Sadio Mané

The Senegal international earned a move to Anfield following two successful seasons at Southampton, in which he scored 25 and assisted 14 in all competitions.

He became the Reds' third most expensive signing behind Andy Carroll (£35m) and Christian Benteke (£32.5m) when he joined last month.

Carroll, 27, scored just six Premier League goals during his two-year spell at Liverpool, while fellow striker Benteke, 25, endured a difficult debut campaign last term.

And while the new season does not kick off for a few more weeks, Mane, 24, feels he is coping well with the move despite the expectations after such a large transfer.

"It's football isn't it? That's the game these days," he said. "The thing for me is not to focus on the fee. I just have to focus on what I can do in the games and in training."

Mane is set to feature against Chelsea in the International Champions Cup match in Pasadena on Wednesday night as they kick off the American leg of their pre-season.
