A driver crashed their Toyota Yaris into the window of a Specsavers in London, which has sparked a flurry of jokes online.

The smash took place on Ruislip High Street in North West London this morning around 8am, causing delays in the town centre.

Pictures emerged from the crash which occurred this morning and were shared online and people began, predictably, making THAT joke.

This classic kept cropping up “Should’ve gone to #specsavers #theirony”

“Horrendous accident in Ruislip High St this morning, a car has gone through Specsavers window! Insert your own joke below…,” added another.

“So someone has crashed their car into specsavers on the high street and everyone on the bus as we’re just passing has said ‘oh should have gone to specsavers’,” tweeted a commuter.

“Ok so I wake up to see that a car has crashed on #ruislip high street right next to specsavers! Hope driver is ok but couldn’t help but see the funny side of it!,” said another.

A few people joked about this being an elaborate ad campaign from the company.

“See specsavers are filming their new advert in Ruislip high street,” said one.

Another tweeted “@Specsavers I found your new advert.”

Commuters seemed a little bit frustrated by the delay and warned people to steer clear of the street.

“Avoid Ruislip High Street if you can. Long queues and police everywhere - car crashed into Specsavers,” informed one commuter.

“Great, now I'm going to be late for work again, but this time it's not my fault”, moaned another.

Police officers helped the driver out of the car and have now launched an investigation into the incident.

The driver is believed to have suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.
