Chris Wilder's biggest problem as he looks to address Sheffield United's poor return

The Blades boss has been left scratching his head

Chris Wilder, like all of us, is at a loss to explain what has happened to his Sheffield United team.

The Blades were firing on all cylinders before the break, having won five and drawn one out of six games in all competitions at the time football in this country came to a halt.

However, they have returned to action looking a shadow of the team that walked off the pitch at full-time on March 7 having just beaten Norwich 1-0.

Last night's 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford meant United have picked up just one point since their return to action last week - although in fairness is should have been three at Villa.

Yet, despite the controversy surrounding that game at Villa Park, a point is all they have on the board.

The players have looked lethargic, devoid of confidence and have lost their competitive edge.

The alarm bells are starting to ring.

After the match at Old Trafford, the Blades boss again reiterated his desire to make sure United's season 'does not fall off a cliff' after an excellent campaign that had seen them placed seventh with two-thirds of the season gone.
