A video of a woman singing in her garden in West Calder has gone viral, racking up thousands of likes and shares.

With people across Scotland being encouraged to stay in their homes amid the spread of COVID-19, the local woman managed to lift the spirits of the local community with her impressive singing.

In the video, shared by her neighbour Gareth Norton, the local woman can be heard belting out Snow Patrol's anthem 'Run' through a microphone in her garden.

Mr Norton said: "Love my neighbours" as he continued to film.

The woman behind the amazing set is called Lynne Size, and has her own Facebook following here.

Lynne had initially posted a suggestion that she hold an outdoor singathon on 18 March, writing:

"Maybe a daft idea. But here goes. I'm no vera Lynn or initially on the balcony but....

"How about an hour or so Facebook Live the nights I'm meant to be gigging. Set up my stuff in spare room/outside weather permitting and do a wee impromptu set. If we cant get out, have a wee concert you can log into.

"Keep us cheery. Not late (don't worry neighbours) maybe 8.30 to 9.30. What do you think?"
