Harry Wilson will not be recalled by Liverpool, says Derby County boss Frank Lampard

The Wales international hit the headlines this week following his match-winning exploits against Republic of Ireland

Frank Lampard insists Harry Wilson is with Derby County for the whole season.

Wilson joined the Rams on a season-long loan from Liverpool this summer - one of nine summer signings made by Lampard.

The 21-year-old winger has made nine appearances, seven of them starts, scoring two goals.

But it is his two stunning free kicks in recent games that have put the Welsh international in the spotlight.

His first was against Manchester United at Old Trafford in a Carabao Cup tie last month and this week he hit the net with a free kick to give Wales a 1-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland in a UEFA Nations League tie in Dublin.

This has left Derby fans hoping Wilson cannot be recalled by Liverpool in the January window.

When asked about the possibility, Lampard said: "He's our player for the year, so, yeah, he's our player for the year.

"He's a Liverpool player for the future but, I've answered this about Mason Mount before, we are looking after them for a year, and hopefully improving them.
