Derby County reveal financial results for last season

The club has issued its financial figures for the year from July 1, 2016, to June 30, 2017

Derby County have reported a loss of £7.9m for the 2016-17 season - a drop of almost £7m on a loss of £14.7m the previous year.

The club has issued its financial figures for the year from July 1, 2016, to June 30, 2017.

They show a record Championship turnover in a non-parachute-payment year of £29m, up £6.4m, but the wage bill is up again from £33.1m to £34.6m.

The wage bill covers all club staff in all areas of the business.

Derby again fell inside the Financial Fair Play (FFP) threshold. Championship clubs can lose up to £13m in a year or £39m over a three-year period.

Broadcast, ticketing and commercial revenue rose by a combined £3.2m - £2.3m of which was due to increased broadcasting revenue.

The financial statement says the average attendance at Pride Park Stadium for Championship matches last season was 27,885 and not the previously reported figure of 29,085.

Derby have around 22,500 season ticket holders and the average attendance this season is currently 26,810.
