PS PLUS SEPTEMBER 2017 UPDATE
Following the leak yesterday Sony PlayStation has now confirmed the full PS Plus September 2017 games lineup.
Not only does it include a whopping 4 PS4 games (as well as two PS3 titles) but there's also the first ever inclusion for PSVR, with a free bonus game for RIGS Mechanized Combat League.
Here's the lineup in full:
• Child of Light (PS4)• inFamous Second Son (PS4)• We Are Doomed (PS4, PS Vita)• Hatoful Boyfriend (PS4, PS Vita)• RIGS Mechanized Combat League (PSVR)• Truck Racer (PS3)• Handball 2016 (PS3)
All the above will be available on PlayStation Store from 6th September, meaning you’ve still got a few days left to grab any of the August titles.
You can watch the trailer above to get a better look at some of the games coming and also the extra benefits of PlayStation Plus, but keep reading for more info on each of the titles
inFAMOUS: Second Son
What's hot
If superheroes are you’re thing then this one’s for you. He might not be a comic book icon with a box-office tie-in and a branded lunchbox, nor does he look terribly fetching in lyrca, but Delsin Rowe does have the super powers – lots of them.
The third instalment in the hugely successful inFAMOUS franchise, inFAMOUS: Second Son transports the action to an alternate reality Seattle where super human ‘conduits’ are being hunted by the state. Awakened to his remarkable powers by a chance encounter with another conduit, Delsin travels from his homely rural reservation into the heart of the besieged city with a score to settle.
Child of Light
A clever combination of turn-based combat, role-playing character development and puzzle/platforming, this charming 2D adventure combines the best of traditional and modern game design.
RIGS Mechanised Combat League
Two down and more to go! As a special bonus this month, PS Plus subscribers will also be able to download PlayStation VR launch title RIGS.
Designed and built exclusively for PS VR, RIGS places you into the cockpit of a mechanical sporting titan known as a ‘RIG’ and launches you into a competitive sports league that combines first person shooter combat with team-based tactics and… erm slam-dunking yourself through a giant gold hoop.
Don’t miss
That’s You!
Last, but definitely not least, we have PS4 PlayLink title That’s You.
In this irreverent party quiz you and up to five of your friends and family get to find out what you really think about each other. With your TV, PS4 and a tablet or smartphone in hand, answer over 1,000 funny questions, take part in daring doodle challenges, snap selfies for photo challenges and more.
The PlayStation Plus September 2017 titles appear to have leaked ahead of an official Sony announcement, expected to come at some point tomorrow.
An eagle-eyed PS4 gamer spotted a Sony PlayStation post on Facebook that suggests Infamous: Second Son and Child of Light may be coming as PS+ games for September.
The post - spotted in an Android version of the Facebook app and promoted by the official Sony PlayStation account - suggests that SuckerPunch's action-adventure game might be Sony's next free PS4 game.
The post itself reads: "PS Plus members - download inFAMOUS Second Son and Child of Light throughout September"
"PS Plus members - download inFAMOUS Second Son and Child of Light throughout September"
Ubisoft's Child of Light is also included on the page, which would be available on PS4 and Vita.
It could be interesting timing for Sony and SuckerPunch to push the game once again onto PS4 players.
The long time PlayStation developer has been mysteriously absent since 2014's inFAMOUS First Light.
With Sony freely admitting that they've held back some E3 announcements and the company expected to have a big presence at Paris Games Week in a little over a month, it'll be interesting to see if this is a precursor to Sucker Punch Productions comeback.
The news of the new PlayStation Plus lineup comes days before Sony look's set to increase their membership costs from August 31.
Annual PlayStation Plus memberships will increase from £39.99 to £49.99, quarterly prices will rise from £14.99 to £19.99, while monthly prices will go up from £5.99 to £6.99.
"As you are an existing member, this means that all recurring subscription fees payable by you on or after 31 August 2017 will be charged at the new price," Sony confirmed in their announcement earlier this month.
The only way fans can save on the cost of PlayStation Plus is to stack subscriptions on top of one another before the price rise occurs.
So if you wanted, you could purchase three 12 month subscriptions and secure your access at the existing price for the next three years (or however many you want!).
"Up until 31 August 2017, you may purchase a PlayStation Plus subscription at the current price, which will then be added (or “stacked on”) to your current membership period," Sony explained in their email earlier this year.
Time is also running out for PS Plus subscribers to cancel their membership before the price increase hits
"If you want to prevent your PlayStation Plus membership continuing at the new price, you will need to cancel it," warned PlayStation earlier this month.
"Turn OFF 'auto-renew' in your account settings at least 48 hours before your next payment on or after 31 August 2017 is due."
For the time being though, don't forget about those PlayStation Plus August 2017 free games which are available, because there's only a few more days to grab them from the PlayStation Store without paying a penny.
And you wouldn't want to miss out, would you?
Just Cause 3 and Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry are the big PS4 titles added to PlayStation Plus in August.
Party game That’s You!, part of Sony’s new Playlink range is also available as a bonus release.
While Super Motherload and Snake Ball make up the offerings for PS3, whereas PlayStation Vita users get Downwell and Level 2.
There's no specific end date on when you need to grab these PS Plus games, but to be safe, make sure to download them before September 1st.
Here’s the lineup:
• Just Cause 3 (PS4)• Assassin’s Creed: Freedom Cry (PS4)• That’s You – PS4 (bonus title)• Super Motherload (PS3)• Snake Ball (PS3)• Downwell (PS Vita)• Level 22 (PS Vita)
