West Ham reject Inter Milan misfits on loan as Joe Allen transfer interest ends

The Hammers were offered the chance to sign Matias Vecino and Valentino Lazaro this January but aren't keen on the pair

West Ham: David Sullivan in 2013 reflects on buying the club

West Ham have been offered Inter Milan misfits Matias Vecino and Valentino Lazaro on loan.

The Hammers are looking for a midfielder to play alongside Declan Rice and were sounded out about the possibility of taking Uruguay international Vecino.

But the player is in no hurry to leave Inter and he is currently not a priority for West Ham.

Austria international Lazaro is more of a wide player and also has interest from Newcastle and Werder Bremen.

Stoke City midfielder Joe Allen has long been on West Ham’s radar but it is understood the club are not currently targeting him.

Irons boss David Moyes comes up against former club Everton tomorrow, and he's eager to replicate his lengthy stay at Goodison during his second spell in east London.

"I spent 11-1/2 great years there, but everything now is geared towards West Ham," Moyes said ahead of the London Stadium clash.

"I would like to do something here, get regular top six or seven football... there's a similarity in the clubs."
