ASTON VILLA are ready to pay HALF of Ross McCormack’s wages - just to get him off the payroll.

Manager Steve Bruce has fallen out with the £12m striker.

Villa splashed out to bring the Scotland international north from Fulham over the summer.

But the move hasn’t worked out and the club now want him out.

The Daily Mail report McCormack has been made available for loan, with Villa prepared to pay 50 per cent of his £45,000-a-week wages.

Fulham were linked with a bid for their former player, but boss Slavisa Jokanovic decided to pull the plug on a swoop.

Other Championship clubs could enter the frame, but even paying half of his wages could prove too costly for some.

McCormack has scored just three goals for Villa.

The 30-year-old former Leeds and Cardiff man has made 22 appearances for the club.
