The actress was horrified to discover that her character Bill Potts is a fan of the X Factor girlband.
Pearl is a Prince fan in real life and Little Mix’s cheesey pop hits – which include Shout Out To My Ex, Hair and Black Magic – are not her favourites.
An insider said: “It was the one thing that grated with her.”
When grilled about it, she said coyly: “Ahhhhh....We filmed that a little while ago!”
Then, in a bid to curry favour with the Little Mixers, she added: “It’s like when Justin Bieber got cool and we were like: ‘Actually all of you Beliebers you knew what was going on. And now everyone is jumping on the band wagon.’”
In a forthcoming episode of the sci-fi , the new sidekick will annoy The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) by playing Little Mix hits in the Tardis.
The Time Lord is horrified by what he hears and, according to Doctor Who Magazine, he gasps in shock: “There’s a whole play list?”
Meanwhile, Saturday’s launch episode The Pilot drew a peak of 5 million viewers. The show is back in an earlier evening time slot too.

Jack Rowan admits appearing in the new Channel 4 chiller turned him into a fan of Pretty Woman, When Harry Met Sally and Bridget Jones’s Diary.
He plays teenage psychopath Sam in the show but claims filming the role was such a gruelling process that he had to find something to help him wind down.
Jack, who also starred in Beowulf, said: “Sometimes it was hard to switch off. My character does some pretty despicable things and they’ve given me nightmares.
