BDO champ Glen Durrant blasted by disgraced darts star Eric Bristow

DARTS legend Eric Bristow has been slammed by the sports’ fans for taking aim at the new BDO world champion Glen Durrant on Twitter.

Glen Durrant claims first World Championship in darts

Bristow was dropped by Sky Sports last year after branding victims of alleged sex abuse in football “wimps”.

Now the 59-year-old Crafty Cockney has launched a bizarre attack on Durrant – just days after the 46-year-old took home the £100,000 winner’s cheque at Lakeside.

Over two days Bristow posted tweets about how Durrant, who won the nation’s hearts with his BDO success, was “not good enough”.

He also appeared to poke fun at Duzza’s decision to stay in the BDO rather than join the rival PDC competition.

In one tweet Bristow wrote: “Think I agree with Durrant best to be the big fish in little pond and enjoy the year.”

Fans quickly raced to defend darts’ new hero, Durrant.

SaintsFan tweeted: “No need for it. Should be promoting the game, full stop.”
