Welcome to Gruinard Island where the biological doomsday weapons once wiped out all mammal life.
Just off the British mainland, in Gruinard Bay, half way between Ullapool and Gairloch in the Scottish Highlands, this has to be one of the most chilling places you can set foot on in the UK.
For five decades the place was out of bounds because it was sealed off – because if you stepped ashore you would die a very nasty death.
You can visit now but many choose not to for a very good reason.
Fearing animation from the Nazis and then the Soviet Union, the British Government secretly developed weaponised anthrax here, according to declassfied government documents.
Scientists wearing chemical warfare suits tested the weapons on animals.
And they concluded that by spraying spores it could be possible to killing millions.
Anthrax can be contracted by touching a contaminated surface or by eating food with just a few spores in it.

But it is by breathing, but it is through inhalation that it is at its most deadly and proves to be fatal in about 95% of cases, even with medical treatment.
An early sign you have got Anthrax is a small black blister.
Within hours you fall ill with a fever and you start bleeding to death inside, with blood gushing out of your ears, noise and mouth.
In 1990, Following decontimation efforts – where top soil was removed – the then junior Defence Minister, Michael Neubert declared the island safe and removed a warning sign.
But some at the time were not convinced.
Dr Brian Moffat, archaeological director of an excavation of a medieval hospital near Edinburgh, said his team had found buried anthrax spores which had survived for hundreds of years.
He told the Glasgow Herald: "I would not go walking on Gruinard.

"If anthrax is still active at Soutra, there is no reason to suppose it has not survived on more recent sites.
"It is a very resilient and deadly bacterium."
More recently, it was discovered Google Earth obscured the island, but not the neighbouring British mainland which is directly next door.
The island is among a host of places the spy-tool blurs out. Others include Roswell in New Mexico and Mururoa and Fangataufa atolls where France tested out its nuclear weapons.
