Aberdeen could make a move for Motherwell striker Curtis Main – if he decides to remain in the Premiership.

The 26-year-old is out of contract at Fir Park next month and looks set to move on.

Main has indicated he is looking for a new challenge and is on Derek McInnes’s radar as he looks to strengthen his Pittodrie frontline.

Aberdeen made moves to try to land the Well striker in January, along with Bradford City, but were told he wanted to keep his options open.

Main is keen to return south and League One leaders Luton Town have also had him watched closely, along with Aberdeen skipper Graeme Shinnie.

He is waiting to see what options he has in England before he decides on his next move.

McInnes will look at Main, who draw a blank at Pittodrie on Wednesday, again if he was to decide to stay in Scotland.

Aberdeen are on the lookout for another striker with James Wilson set to leave when his loan from Manchester United expires and Greg Stewart also out-of-contract and attracting interest from Rangers.
