Filip Helander makes stark Rangers pressure admission as he admits 'we've not been good enough'

The centre-back has missed a huge chunk of the season with a foot injury.

Rangers - Latest news from Ibrox

Rangers defender Filip Helander admits they struggled to handle the pressure after the winter break.

A win at Celtic Park in the final match before the winter break left the destiny of the Premiership title in Rangers ' hands.

But from two points behind with a game in hand they trailed by 12 points when the coronavirus pandemic saw the season grind to a halt.

Helander admitted: "I don't know what happened to us as a team. We lost our shape, got a few injuries and dropped lots of unnecessary points.

"Confidence dropped in the team and you start overthinking things in adversity.

"Of course you notice the criticism because the expectations here at Rangers is that you will always win. That's what we play for here and I love it. When things are not going well, you have to not let it get to you.

"But we have not been good enough to handle the pressure this season."

Steven Gerrard 's squad are keen to play their remaining nine league matches, but Helander admits that may not be possible.
