Dundee captain Charlie Adam reckons Rangers may need to be offered a bigger slice of the cinch deal to end their SPFL war of words.

The champions are in the midst of a row over the league sponsor with managing director Stewart Robertson insisting they are not obligated to advertise the online car dealer.

They were not featured on advertising materials for the league opener against Livingston which was slammed by SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan.

Rangers' hardline stance has sparked fears cinch could walk away from their £8million agreement to sponsor the four professional leagues within the Scottish football pyramid.

Former Ibrox Adam has called for the statements released to the press and the clubs and SPFL to hold a meeting on a route forward.

The Dens Park midfielder pitched that the other 10 Premiership clubs could take the hit and offer a bigger cut of the deal to Rangers and Celtic to win over the Glasgow giants.

While discussing the ongoing row on The PLZ Football Show, Adam said: "We talked about it during the pandemic, how we never had a sponsorship for the main league in Scotland is just incredible.
