She suffered a major drug relapse when her engagement to cagefighter Tom Richards turned sour.

But following Daniella Westbrook's shocking confession that she hoped to die during her cocaine binges to escape her poisonous relationship, the former EastEnders actress has been pictured looking happier and healthier than ever in Spain.

The 41-year-old star appears to have bounced back from her traumatic time with the help of her new toyboy Jude Moore - who is less than half her age - after losing her home, several job opportunities and her self-esteem.

Danniella and the hunky male model were packing on the PDA during a beach holiday to Mallorca last Friday, where they made their romance official by strolling along arm-in-arm.

Jude, who is just two years older than the troubled actress' son Kai Jenkins, wasn't shy about showing his affection for his new lady, passionately embracing her in the sea.

It's early days for the pair, who have been friends for a while, with Danniella regularly tweeting him using the hashtag 'mates'.

But love has definitely blossomed after Jude splashed the cash during their seaside break, treating her to expensive boat trips and nice dinners.

Clad in a leopard print bikini, Danniella showed off her toned and tanned figure as she sauntered along the waterfront.

It was hard to miss Jude in his fluorescent yellow swimming trunks, displaying his six pack and tattoo sleeves.

It's fair to Danniella has a type, since the blonde's ex Tom was also several years her junior at 25.

The troubled actress, who has fought a lengthy battle against substance abuse, has revealed her break-up with her fiance left her wanting to kill herself with cocaine binges.

Speaking to The Sunday People, she confessed: 'I couldn't get Tom out of my life and thought the easiest way out was killing myself. That's why I used cocaine.' 

Elaborating on her momentary relapse, she added to the paper's Lewis Panther: 'I was ­medicating myself. It has always been my drug of choice. I was using two to three grams a day, which was too much.

'It wasn't as much as I was using when I was younger. But it was enough to make my body shut down. That's what I ­wanted to happen. It nearly worked. I wanted to die.'

She went on to reveal that she'd been clean for 12 years when she began using again - although has now successfully stopped.

The 41 year-old spoke to the weekly newspaper after they revealed her ex will not face charges by police, despite various allegations she made against him - claims he has since strenuously denied.

Tom was last arrested in April for allegedly assaulting and harassing Danniella earlier in the month.

Detained in his home city of Swansea and after being held in a cell for 11 hours, the cage fighter was bailed as police continued their investigation, but no charges were eventually brought.

His arrest followed claims by Danniella on social media that her younger former lover had been violent towards her, posting a photograph on Twitter of her bruised hand. Once again, he denied the allegations. 

Last week, Danniella was pictured seemingly reuniting with Tom, the two of them spotted together at a London hotel after he made claims that her drug problems had left him '£8,000 in debt' and was being pursued by gangsters.

But that complaint is just one element of her dramatic private life.

Speaking of her financial woes on This Morning recently, she said: 'This year has been the worst year of my life. I've lost all work, we're in a bedsit, I go to food banks…

'It's a car crash… and I have to say, I thought that nearly losing my life was the worst point of my life, but I think that this year has been the worst year that I've ever had.'

Meanwhile, this news comes as her soap comes to an end: it was previously reported that Danniella was going to resurrect her career on Hollyoaks.

The 41-year-old old was thought to be returning as former jailbird Trudy Ryan on the Channe 4 show.

But reps for the programme have confirmed that she won't be making a comeback.

A show spokesperson told MailOnline: 'Danniella breached her contract and it was terminated last week. She will not be filming Hollyoaks.'
