Newport defender Ryan Inniss is facing a lengthy ban after being accused of biting a West Ham youngster.
Inniss, on loan at Newport from Crystal Palace, was sent off after an off-the-ball incident in the EFL Trophy game against West Ham’s Under 21s on Wednesday.
The FA launched an investigation after Reece Hannam claimed he had been bitten by Inniss and the 24-year-old was charged yesterday.
The FA have deemed the standard three-match ban for violent conduct insufficient and an independent commission will decide Inniss’s punishment, pending his response.
