Real Madrid want the 19-year-old and are reportedly willing to pay a £8million 'gesture fee'

So far the 19-year-old has snubbed offers of a new deal in Manchester, the most recent of which is reported to be £25,000-per-week including bonuses.

Should no agreement be struck, Diaz will be free to speak with other clubs in January regarding his next month.

The agent of the player even happens to be Pere Guardiola, the brother of Pep, though Diaz seems to have his heart set on attaining more playing time.

Madrid are reported to have offered this to the youngster, and are looking to pay a 'gesture fee' now amounting to £8million in order to bypass a tribunal.

City lost Jadon Sancho in similar circumstances to Borussia Dortmund in August 2017, after the forward left the Etihad in search of first team opportunities.

Sancho was vindicated in his decision, after breaking into the Dortmund first team and becoming a senior England international as a result.

City are also poised to offer midfielder Phil Foden a new deal, believed to be worth in the region of £35,000 per week.
