Wolves duo could head for exit door this summer - reports

The latest WWFC transfer news concerns two wingers

Alex Dicken explains why Helder Costa's Wolves career is coming to an end

Wolves could look to offload wingers Helder Costa and Ivan Cavaleiro this summer as they look to upgrade their squad.

Wanderers, who beat Fulham 1-0 thanks to Leander Dendoncker’s goal at Molineux on Saturday , are in pole position to finish seventh this season - a finish that’ll be confirmed on Monday evening if Leicester don’t win at Manchester City.

That’d mean Europa League football next season, provided Wolves can navigate their way through the qualifying rounds, and so Nuno Espirito Santo’s relatively small squad will likely need adding to.

While Wolves are expected to be busy in their recruitment drive this summer, the Mirror claim there’ll still be some departures.

That could mean the axe for bit part pair Costa and Cavaleiro, who were both key figures in Wolves’ title winning Championship campaign last year.

Costa hasn’t started a league game since January 2, in the defeat to Crystal Palace, and his appearances from the bench since then have been for nothing more than a handful of minutes at a time.

There was hope that his goal in the excellent 3-1 win at Wembley over Tottenham might’ve ignited Costa’s season, particularly after his international call up to the Portugal squad - during which time he scored against Scotland.

He’s struggled to dislodge Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez in that time, however, and could be moved on this summer.
