This is why Aston Villa transfer target Mahmoud Hassan is called 'Trezeguet'

Steve Bruce's former chairman Simon Jordan on his 'disloyal' reputation

Dean Smith and Jesus Garcia Pitarch made a 7,000 mile round trip to Egypt to check out Aston Villa transfer target Trezeguet over the weekend.

Tricky winger Trezeguet has been lined up for a £10million transfer to Villa Park and Smith and Pitarch - also known as Suso - wanted to check out the player one last time in the flesh.

Egypt lost their last 16 tie to South Africa with Thembinkosi scoring the only goal five minutes from time.

Kasimpasa star Trezeguet - who plays second fiddle to Mohamed Salah with Egypt - played the full 90 minutes, as did Villa full-back Ahmed Elmohamady.

The 24-year-old's attentions will now turn to his future and he's reportedly made it clear to Turkish club Kasimpasa that he wants to leave this summer.

Keen to find out more about Trezeguet, BirminghamLive spoke to Egyptian football expert Adam Moustapha of King Fut.

What qualities does Trezeguet have and would he be suited to the Premier League?

"Mahmoud Hassan - 'Trezeguet' - is a workhorse with pace, technique, and an eye for goal, which is essential for modern wingers.

"He has also proven to be extremely useful on the counter, which could come handy for many Premier League clubs who struggle under pressure.
