Bright Enobakhare has apologised to Wolves fans for his Manchester City misses and vowed to find the net next time.

The young striker missed two gilt-edged opportunities to win the Carabao Cup fourth round tie at The Etihad but couldn’t beat City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

And Wolves were made to pay as Bravo saved penalties from Alfred N’Diaye and Conor Coady as Pep Guardiola’s team won 4-1 on spot-kicks.

And young forward Enobakhare has taken to Instagram to apologise to the 6,000 Wolves fans who made the trip.

He wrote on Tuesday: “I’m so sorry for the loss tonight. Only god knows what those chances I had means to me and please I will not let you down next time.”

How fans reacted to City defeat

It was a night of pride for Wolverhampton Wanderers as they pushed Manchester City all the way before being knocked out of the Carabao Cup on penalties.

Nuno Espirito Santo's Championship table-toppers met the Premier League leaders at The Etihad on Wednesday evening and became the first side since Everton in August to avoid defeat against Pep Guardiola's side.

Nuno made nine changes from the team which defeated Preston North End 3-2 on Saturday as only captain Danny Batth and sweeper Conor Coady kept their places.
