Villa receive warning over permanent Barkley transfer
Gabby Agbonlahor has warned Aston Villa they face paying a huge fee for Ross Barkley if the Chelsea midfielder keeps playing the way he is.
Barkley has enjoyed a fine start to life at Villa Park since his season-long loan move from Stamford Bridge, already underlining his status as a key player for Dean Smith.
There is no option-to-buy included in the loan agreement, meaning the ball is in Chelsea's court when it comes to the 26-year-old's long-term future.
Villa would love to keep Barkley if his partnerships with the likes of Jack Grealish and Ollie Watkins continue to blossom but Agbonlahor believes the former Everton player's early form could work against them.
England boss Southgate makes Grealish confession
Gareth Southgate admits Jack Grealish has risen to the challenge he laid down to the Aston Villa captain.
Grealish is in line to make his third England appearance under Southgate in tonight's friendly against the Republic of Ireland at Wembley.

But many feel the 25-year-old should have many more caps to his name having consistently impressed at Premier League level for Villa.
Southgate previously spoke of Grealish's end product and intense competition for places when asked why he wasn't being picked but the playmaker's record of four goals and five assists in just seven top-flight matches this season speaks for itself.

Mount praises 'unbelievable' Villa captain
Chelsea star Mason Mount has lavished praise on Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish after the pair linked up for England duty this week.
England boss Gareth Southgatre has come under fire from Villa fans for playing Mount ahead of Grealish despite the latter's fine form for Villa this season.
"We are two different players and we do different things, so I'd never look at it as a rivalry," said Mount "We are two team-mates who play for the same country.

"We want to do the best for each other, for the team and for the country as well. We are kind of different players. We can play in different roles. I look at the way he's been playing this season, he's been unbelievable and we both want to bring that to the next three games coming up."
Villa linked with 'great prospect' Baptista
Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Portugal Under-20 international Fabio Baptista ahead of the January window.
The Benfica B winger, 19, is also being monitored by Villa's Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and Serie A side Atalanta according to reports in Italy.
Calcio Mercato say Baptista is viewed as a 'great prospect' for the future by Atalanta but both Villa and Palace could be rivals for his signature.
Baptista, who is also capable of playing at right-back, has not yet been handed a debut for Benfica's first-team but has made three appearances for the club's B side in the Portuguese second tier this season.
