There are question marks over Kevin De Bruyne’s fitness ahead of Aston Villa’s Premier League return at Manchester City on Wednesday.
The Belgian midfield maestro was on top form again on Sunday as City strolled to a 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace at the Etihad.
De Bruyne registered his 100th assist for the club as Pep Guardiola’s side moved up to second in the Premier League.
“What can I say, again?” said Guardiola on De Bruyne’s performance.
“The managers can help many things but one thing that belongs to [the players] is the talent up front.
“Managers are incredibly fortunate or lucky to be in charge with this kind of player because it makes your life easier.”
However, De Bruyne’s night seemed to end on a sour note when he appeared to hobble off with a slight injury as the game entered the final 20 minutes.
Little was made of the injury after the game, but it was spotted by journalist Daniel Storey, who was at the Etihad.
He told the ‘Totally Football Show’ podcast: “Kevin De Bruyne hobbled off with what looked like a sore ankle.”
